Fiji National Women in Sydney

The Fiji National Women team has just completed a 10 day intensive training programme in Sydney. Playing games against Sutherland FC, Koalas FC, Belconnen FC (ACT) and Macarthur Rams FC proved a great challenge.

Special guest former Matilda’s Coach Hesterine De Reus conducted a training session combining  the Fiji players with local girls from the Nepean U17 Premier League.

Fiji is preparing for the Pacific Games next month and Head Coach Charlene Lockington was full of praise for the facilities on offer and that the team could concentrate on football everyday. It is the first time the Fiji Women team have had an international training camp and the benefits will be enormous.

See Football NSW website for additional media release.

Chelsea FC Champions

Congratulations to Chelsea FC – Premier League Champions 2015.

A season where they were always deemed as favourites, Chelsea have proven you win games on solid defence and flare in attack.

Remarkable achievement when you consider the closeness of the chasing pack. Southampton & Tottenham have had strong seasons. Man City, Man U and Liverpool are always a threat. Arsenal just failing to nail the right results when required.

We look forward to seeing them in Sydney in June 2015Mourinho.

Socceroos finally win!

SocceroosHow sweet it was to see the Socceroos grab a vital win against Saudi Arabia. Not the most convincing performances but we will always cherish a win. Tim Cahill continued his great goal scoring streak and continues to be our “go to” man in front of goals.

Good to see some new faces in the squad. Chris herd looks a great addition and can only get better with more runs at Aston Villa.

Hopefully this is a good sign for the Asian Championships coming up.

Premier League begins with a bounce

The new English Premier League has started and are we in for a thrilling season.

Manchester United started where they left off with fans wondering if they have the class to be up at the top end of the table. They will always be the team everyone wants to beat. You could see the Swansea players lifting as the game went on. Even when Rooney equalised, it did not damper the enthusiasm for Swansea to press for a win.

Arsenal did it tough against some very determined opposition in Crystal Palace. Palace were playing off memory with no Manager in charge and probably it goes to prove all the hard work is done on the training paddock. The players know what to do, it is just a matter of execution.
